CHECK WITH YOUR CREDIT UNION FIRST!
Make sure you call the credit union to inquire about a car loan before you finance a new car with a car dealer. There are many times where a car loan at the credit union will be better for you in the long run even though the interest rate from the dealer is lower than the credit union's. This is especially true when you factor in the free credit life insurance given by the credit union.
Also don't forget that if you have already financed a new vehicle with another financial institution, you can apply to have your vehicle loan refinanced at the credit union with our new car rate. This policy also is true for boats, motor homes, mobile homes, and travel trailers. The credit union will even pay the transfer fees. Many program cars qualify as new vehicles at the credit union. If the car is a current or previous year model with less than 40,000 miles, you can finance it at the new car rate.
Please check with the credit union before you lease a vehicle. There are many instances where a lease is not advantageous to you. Call the credit union and we can explain.
