in Ragley in June 2023, his goal was simple: to create a place where outdoor enthusiasts in Southwest Louisiana could find quality gear and trusted service. The idea had been on his mind for years.
“I’ve had this idea for years that I wanted some type of outdoor hunting and fishing store,” Glass said. “I bought the land and one day decided it was time to start.”
Today, Hurricane Outdoor has become a destination for hunters, anglers, and sportsmen alike across the region. Glass believes what sets the store apart is its focus on people.
“Customer service,” he said. “We pride ourselves on finding what customers want and getting it here.”
That focus on people didn’t stop at the storefront—it shaped how the business was built from the ground up. Supported by CSE Federal Credit Union, Glass moved forward with confidence and built something designed to last. Alongside CSE Regional Loan Officer Angie Franks, Glass established a strong financial foundation; creating long-term sustainability for his business and the community it serves. “Angie is second to none,” Glass said. “Sometimes it’s more about the relationship than the deal itself.”
Inside his office, a sign behind his desk serves as a daily reminder of the mindset that drives him: “I want to see what happens if I don’t give up.”

Glass said. “It’s the ones that grind every day and never give up that succeed.”
Hurricane Outdoor is creating a lasting impact in Southwest Louisiana, and that perseverance extends beyond the storefront. Last year, Hurricane Outdoor donated more than $25,000 to local causes and youth programs.
“As a community, we all have a part to play,” Glass said. “Our goal is to make sure the community benefits.”
